Installez au fond du pot une couche drainante ou des cailloux avant de mettre la terre car c’est indispensable au bon écoulement de l’eau d’arrosage. Mais il faut prendre en considération que le choix de la terre, terreau ou de terre de bruyère dépend du choix de la plante. Il faut toute fois, ne pas oublier d’acheter une griffe pour aérer la terre, une mini-pelle pour pouvoir creuser et planter et un petit sécateur si vous désirez planter des rosiers ou des lilas. Enfin pour l’achat des graines et les plantes, il faut penser qu’elles se divisent en plusieurs catégories :
Les annuelles (chrysanthème et bruyère) qui poussent, fleurissent et meurent dans la même année et qu’il faudrait jeter une fois fanées après avoir récolté éventuellement leurs graines.
Les bisannuelles (giroflée, myosotis, pensée, primevère) fleurissent deux fois l’année et meurent par la suite.
Les vivaces (capucine, bégonia, pétunia, sauge et verveine) comme les géraniums peuvent être conservé d’une année sur l’autre. Mais il faut bien faire attention au froid en hiver et les faire rentrer dans votre intérieur.
Les bulbes (anémone, iris, jacinthe, narcisse, tulipe) que vous pouvez mettre en terre en automne pour les voir fleurir au printemps.
