Le Festival international du film de la mer Rouge ouvrira ses portes à Jeddah, en Arabie saoudite, le 12 mars 2020, avec la première mondiale du long métrage saoudien «Shams al-Maaref» (Le Livre du Soleil) », réalisé par Godus Brothers. Le film sera également en compétition dans la catégorie EN COMPÉTITION du Festival. Réalisé par Faris Godus, produit et interprété par son frère Suhaib, “Shams al-Maaref” (Le Livre du Soleil) capture l’esprit d’une génération dont la vie a été transformée par l’Internet. Situé en 2010, Husam (Baraa Alem), un lycéen, se retrouve plongé dans le monde de la production vidéo, une obsession qui détourne son attention des activités ordinaires du secondaire et de la vie d’adolescent. Son meilleur ami Maan (Ismail Alhasan), leur ennemi unique Ibrahim (Ahmed Saddam) et l’enseignant Orabi (Sohayb Godus) se préoccupent également du monde en ligne et de la possibilité d’un média qui représente pour eux la liberté. Le groupe a entrepris de produire un film d’horreur sans budget – une aventure sauvage d’expression de soi et de créativité qui, selon leurs familles, mettra leur avenir en danger. Les Godus Brothers sont devenus célèbres grâce à leurs efforts dans des projets tels que Telfaz 11 et leur court métrage acclamé «Depressing Scene» (2016) et la série télévisée saoudienne du Ramadan «Another Planet».
