Dès notre arrivée au monde, une main invisible se tend. Elle nous comble de dons et de talents, souvent enfouis jusqu’au jour où ils jaillissent comme une étincelle. Ce moment peut naître de la joie ou de l’amour. Mais parfois, c’est la douleur, la solitude, la perte ou la rupture qui le provoque. Un paradis enfoui en nous qui jaillit soudain sur papier ou sur toile.
Une enfance brisée, un paradis évanoui.
C’est ce qu’a vécu l’artiste peintre Ryan Eid, dès son plus jeune âge. À l’école, il découvre un monde froid, fait d’insultes, de violences et d’indifférence. Un monde à l’opposé de ce qu’il connaissait chez lui : l’amour, la tendresse et la sécurité. Lui qui espérait retrouver le paradis de son enfance à l’école, en fut profondément déçu. Alors, il s’isola.
Un refuge dans le dessin.
Pour fuir cette souffrance, Ryan s’est tourné vers un carnet de dessin et quelques crayons. Ils deviennent ses confidents, ses compagnons de douleur. Il y déverse ses plaintes, surtout quand il est loin de sa mère et de son étreinte rassurante.
Son talent germe comme un grain de blé dans une terre fertile. Il pousse, s’élève, jusqu’à fleurir sur des toiles pleines d’émotions. Ses œuvres portent les marques d’une enfance volée, comme un temps figé dans la douleur.
Un pinceau pour se venger.
Mais Ryan n’a pas laissé la douleur gagner. Avec spontanéité et douceur, il trouve un remède à sa peine. D’un coup de pinceau, il immortalise le paradis qu’il a connu chez lui. Il se venge, à sa manière, de l’enfer vécu à l’école.
Le paradis retrouvé à travers l’art.
Ses couleurs vives racontent les souvenirs heureux. Les jeux avec sa tante, cette héroïne du quotidien, son rire innocent, son amour pur… Elle lui a appris à exprimer ce qu’il ressentait, quand les mots manquaient. Même les monstres, robots et mutants présents dans ses tableaux ont leur sens. Ils incarnent la laideur du harcèlement, même s’il ne l’a pas toujours subi directement.
L’art, une mémoire vivante.
Mais Ryan, avec la pureté de ses sentiments d’enfant, a gravé chaque souvenir dans sa mémoire. Et aujourd’hui, son talent les fait vivre sur toile. Des œuvres qui parlent à l’âme, qui marquent l’esprit du spectateur. Comme si elles invitaient chacun à retrouver, au fond de soi, le paradis perdu de l’enfance.
