بيروت في 24 تشرين الثاني 2020: مؤتمر الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا للعلاج المناعي
في ظل استمرار انتشار جائحة كوفيد-19، عُقد مؤتمر الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا للعلاج المناعي في نسخته الثانية خلال يومي 6 و7 تشرين الثاني الجاري. وذلك في الردهة الرئيسية لمبنى مركز حليم وعايدة دانيال الأكاديمي والعلاجي في المركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت. واعتماد نظام المؤتمرات المدمج.
يُعد مؤتمر الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا للعلاج المناعي, المؤتمر الوحيد في المنطقة. والذي يهدف إلى معالجة جميع جوانب ممارسات العلاج المناعي في أنواع السرطان المختلفة، سواء كانت الأورام الصلبة أو الأورام السائلة.
ترأس المؤتمر هذا العام الدكتور حازم عاصي وشاركه في الرئاسة الدكتور جان الشيخ. شهد المؤتمر مشاركة واسعة من شخصيات رائدة في أمراض الدم والأورام، إلى جانب متخصصين معتمدين في الرعاية الصحية، وصيادلة، وممرضات.
عبّر الدكتور عاصي عن ثقته بأهمية برنامج المؤتمر. وقال: “إنني على قناعة تامة بأن البرنامج سيقدم لكم معلومات جديدة ومعرفة أفضل في علم العلاج المناعي للأورام، وأفكار حول كيفية تحسين الأبحاث والنتائج”.
وأضاف أن المؤتمر سيشكل حافزاً لزيادة مواءمة معايير الممارسة الطبية. وأمل أن يؤدي إلى النهوض بمستوى الرعاية لمرضى أمراض الدم والأورام وتحسين نتائجهم.
توجه الدكتور عاصي بالشكر إلى الدكتور فضلو خوري، رئيس الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، والدكتور غازي الزعتري، العميد المؤقت لكلية رجا خوري للطب، والدكتور علي طاهر، مدير معهد نايف باسيل للسرطان NKBCI، على دعمهم.
كما شكر الدكتور جان الشيخ، واللجنة العلمية، والمتحدثين، ومكتب CME، و”انفوميد”، وشركات الأدوية، وكل من ساهم في إنجاح المؤتمر، خصوصاً الحضور الذي بلغ 450 مشاركاً.
أكد الدكتور فضلو خوري على أهمية المناهج المبتكرة التي تراعي خصوصية كل مريض. وركّز في كلمته على الدراسات السابقة والحالية والمستقبلية في علم الأورام والعلاج المناعي.
شمل المؤتمر أهم المبادرات والدراسات على نطاق علاجات السرطان المختلفة، من سرطان الثدي إلى الرئة، والجهاز الهضمي، والبروستات، والمبيض، وأمراض الدم الخبيثة.
وتم التركيز على ضرورة فهم الإجراءات البيولوجية التي يتم تعديلها لزيادة الفعالية والدقة ومعدل النجاة ونوعية الحياة.
يؤمن المركز الطبي في الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت بأهمية تنظيم هذا المؤتمر سنوياً. ويهدف إلى مشاركة التحديثات في علم العلاج المناعي، وتوحيد ممارسات الرعاية لمرضى السرطان في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا.
يتناغم المؤتمر مع رسالة معهد نايف باسيل لسرطان NKBCI في التخفيف من عبء مرض السرطان. ويعتمد المعهد على أحدث المعارف والتقنيات الطبية، ويطوّر برامج متقدمة في رعاية المرضى، والبحوث، والتعليم، والوقاية.
