Une escapade au cœur des vieux souks de Byblos.
Pour ma première excursion, j’ai pris la direction des vieux souks de Byblos : mon but le centre culturel, CLAC.
Byblos, l’une des villes les plus anciennes du littoral libanais, est une petite perle. Petite, mais résonnante de vie. Ma randonnée débuta au port phénicien, bercé par la mer, où reposent doucement de jolis bateaux de pêche. L’air salé mêlé aux senteurs marines donnait le tempo d’une balade hors du temps.
Au fil des ruelles pavées et des boutiques du vieux souk.
Je continuai ma balade, m’aventurant dans le vieux souk. Ses rues pavées, bordées de petites boutiques, racontaient mille histoires. Les portes en vieux bois s’ouvraient sur des trésors : souvenirs typiques, babioles traditionnelles, bijoux scintillants et pièces artisanales uniques. Chaque échoppe semblait chuchoter la mémoire des artisans qui y œuvrent.
Le centre culturel : un joyau niché au cœur du souk.
Je poussai ma tournée jusqu’au centre culturel de Byblos, Clac, niché en plein cœur du vieux souk. Je m’y suis introduite et quelle surprise !
L’endroit remonte au XIIe siècle, époque où l’architecture romane régnait en maître. Le lieu est un pont entre les siècles, un écrin d’histoire et de modernité.
Les secrets du centre culturel dévoilés.
La responsable du centre m’accueillit avec chaleur. Elle me confia qu’autrefois, ce lieu abritait des échoppes, voire des écuries. Les différentes portes en voûte, donnant sur la rue, témoignent de ce passé. Puis, nous avons arpenté ensemble le centre.
Je remarquai les rayons chargés de livres : romans, contes, bandes dessinées, documentaires, allant de l’art culinaire à l’histoire de l’art. Chaque livre est une fenêtre ouverte sur un monde à explorer.
Le centre culturel, un foyer d’activités multiples.
Dans la salle de conférence, la responsable m’expliqua que divers ateliers prennent vie ici. Peinture, théâtre, yoga, psychothérapie… la créativité et le bien-être se conjuguent avec harmonie. De temps à autre, des ONG et associations humanitaires organisent des workshops ouverts à tous.
Les habitants de la région y participent avec enthousiasme, faisant du centre culturel un lieu de partage et de rencontres.
Un regard sur les expositions et événements culturels.
Elle me montra ensuite des photos d’expositions artistiques et de concerts musicaux. Le centre rayonne aussi grâce au marché du livre organisé avec Bookyard. Ces événements insufflent une énergie nouvelle au vieux souk et tissent des liens entre les générations.
Les temps forts du centre culturel à ne pas manquer.
Enfin, elle m’exposa deux activités majeures qui font vibrer le centre culturel chaque année. La semaine de la lecture, au mois d’avril, offre aux étudiants la chance unique de rencontrer des auteurs renommés. C’est une célébration des mots, une invitation à rêver, réfléchir et créer. Puis, la journée du patrimoine attire des centaines de visiteurs.
Ils parcourent gratuitement la célèbre citadelle de Byblos, guidés par des professionnels passionnés. Ce sont des moments précieux où histoire et culture se mêlent pour nourrir l’âme.
En arpentant les vieux souks, j’ai découvert que le centre culturel n’est pas seulement un lieu, mais un souffle. Un souffle qui traverse le temps, unit les cœurs et garde vivante la flamme de la connaissance et de la créativité à Byblos.
