Ce film d’action, inspiré d’une histoire vraie, a engrangé plus de 153 millions de dollars pour un budget de seulement 14,5 millions.
Un sujet sensible et une réception contrastée.
Harassé par les médias américains, mais salué par les conservateurs, Sound of Freedom aborde un sujet poignant : le trafic d’enfants. Ce thème fort bouscule le box-office et divise une opinion publique déjà fragmentée.
Tandis que la presse traditionnelle le qualifie d’insipide et déprimant, le public lui attribue un score parfait de 100 % sur Rotten Tomatoes et un A+ sur CinemaScore.

Le 20 juillet, veille de la sortie de Barbie et Oppenheimer, il franchit la barre des 100 millions. Il pourrait terminer sa course au-delà des 150 millions.
Une proximité idéologique avec l’ultradroite.
Le film ne propage pas directement les théories complotistes. Cependant, sa dénonciation d’un réseau pédocriminel rappelle les récits de Q-Anon.
Cette secte d’extrême droite affirme qu’une élite mondiale enlève et tue des enfants pour extraire l’adrénochrome, une hormone antivieillissement.
Le lien devient plus clair lorsqu’on considère que :
- Le producteur et acteur secondaire, Eduardo Verástegui, est un militant anti-avortement et un proche de Donald Trump.
- Le réalisateur semble appartenir à une droite chrétienne plus modérée.
- L’acteur principal, Jim Caviezel, est catholique intégriste, militant anti-avortement et partisan des théories Q-Anon.
