Un film poignant sur la guerre de 2006.
Un autre film sur la guerre va bientôt sortir en salle. Il s’intitule « Toute cette victoire », ou de son titre arabe « Jidar el Sot ». C’est un film réalisé par Ahmad Ghossein, cinéaste et artiste né à Beyrouth en 1981.
Qui est Ahmad Ghossein ?
Ahmad Ghossein est diplômé de lAcadémie nationale des arts (KHIO) à Oslo avec une maîtrise en arts visuels. Il détient aussi un baccalauréat en théâtre de l’Université libanaise de Beyrouth.
Il est reconnu pour sa sensibilité artistique et son regard politique affûté. Son travail combine documentaire, fiction et art visuel.
Le synopsis de « Toute cette victoire ».
Ce nouveau film raconte l’attaque israélienne contre le Liban en 2006. Le personnage principal, Marwan, 30 ans, cherche désespérément son père pendant une trêve de 24 heures.
Celui-ci a refusé de quitter son village du Sud. Marwan laisse son épouse, Rana, préparer leur immigration au Canada.
Mais dans le village, aucune trace de son père. Le cessez-le-feu est rompu. Marwan se réfugie chez Najib, un ami de la famille. Là, il se retrouve coincé avec quatre villageois.
Une tension extrême dans un huis clos.
Ce film devient un huis clos oppressant. Au premier étage de la maison, un groupe de soldats israéliens est lui aussi pris au piège.
Les deux groupes sont coincés, à quelques mètres l’un de l’autre. À l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur, la tension devient insupportable.
Pendant trois jours, les peurs et les non-dits transforment la cohabitation forcée en bombe à retardement.
Un film aux multiples dimensions.
Avec ce long métrage, Ahmad Ghossein réussit à faire de la guerre non seulement un contexte, mais un personnage à part entière.
« Toute cette victoire » est un film sur la peur, l’inconnu, l’attente, et la survie. Il aborde aussi les liens humains et les choix moraux en temps de crise.
Un parcours déjà salué par la critique.
Ahmad Ghossein a déjà connu le succès. Son court métrage « White Noise », produit sous l’égide de Lebanon Factory, a ouvert la Quinzaine des réalisateurs au Festival de Cannes 2017.
En 2004, il remporte le prix du meilleur réalisateur au Beyrouth International Film Festival pour son projet de fin d’études « Operation Nb ».
Son œuvre « Mon père est toujours communiste » reçoit le prix du meilleur court métrage au Tribeca Doha Film Festival en 2011. Il est également sélectionné par la Berlinale, le MoMa, et plusieurs autres festivals internationaux.
Son court métrage « The Fourth Stage » a ouvert la section Forum Expanded du Berlinale Film Festival 2016.
Jidar el Sot : un film à suivre.
Il reste à voir quels prix ce film remportera. Mais une chose est sûre : « Toute cette victoire » est déjà un film marquant sur une page sombre de l’histoire du Liban.
Il propose une lecture humaine, crue et sensible de la guerre. Un regard indispensable dans un monde où les conflits se multiplient.
